Jaxomo (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit jaxomo.com (the “Site”). It also explains your rights regarding your personal information, especially if you are a resident of California. We aim to be transparent and use plain language so you can clearly understand our practices. By using this Site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We only collect personal information that is relevant to providing you with a great experience on Jaxomo. This includes:

  • Information You Provide Voluntarily: When you contact us (for example, sending an email to hello@jaxomo.com or filling out a contact form if available), you may provide personal details such as your name, email address, or any other information you choose to share. Similarly, if there’s a newsletter signup in the future or a comment section on blog posts, any information you submit (like your name, email, and comment) will be collected. We will only use this information for the purpose for which you provided it (e.g., to respond to your message or register your comment).

  • Usage Data: Like many websites, we automatically collect certain data about your visit to Jaxomo to help us understand how the Site is used. This may include your IP address, browser type, device information, pages you visited on our Site, time and date of your visit, and how long you spent on each page. This data does not directly identify you by name, but it can be considered personal information in some jurisdictions. We use tools like Google Analytics to gather this info – mainly to see which posts are popular, how users navigate the Site, and to troubleshoot technical issues. This helps us improve Jaxomo’s content and design over time.

  • Third-Party Data: We generally do not obtain personal data about you from third parties. However, if you interact with Jaxomo on social media (such as Pinterest, Instagram, etc.), we might indirectly see personal info from your profile or comments there, depending on your privacy settings on those platforms. For example, if you message us via Instagram, we will see whatever information is in your profile and message. Such interactions are also governed by the privacy policies of the respective platforms.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as social security numbers, financial information, or health information. Please refrain from sharing such details in any communications with us. Jaxomo is intended for a general audience interested in fashion and beauty; it is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. (If you are a parent/guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal info, please contact us at hello@jaxomo.com so we can remove it.)

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for various purposes in operating and improving Jaxomo, including:

  • To Operate and Maintain the Site: Your information helps us ensure Jaxomo’s content is presented in the best way for you and your device. For example, understanding what browser or device you use can help us design a mobile-friendly layout. Usage data (like page views) tells us what content is popular, so we can create more of what readers enjoy.

  • To Communicate with You: If you reach out to us (say, via email at hello@jaxomo.com), we will use your contact information to respond to you. For instance, if you ask a question or request more info, we’ll reply using your email address. We may also use your email to notify you of any important updates to the Site or this Privacy Policy, especially if you’ve engaged with us before.

  • To Personalize User Experience: Cookies and similar tech may remember your preferences, making your experience smoother. For example, a cookie might save you from having to re-enter your name in a comment form each time. If in the future we implement features like user accounts or preference settings, personal data would help customize the content you see (like showing you local fashion events if we know your region, etc. – currently we do not have such features, but we plan with privacy in mind).

  • For Analytics and Improvement: We use usage data and cookies to analyze how visitors navigate Jaxomo. This aggregated information (e.g., “50% of readers are from the U.S.,” or “many users find us via Pinterest”) helps us make decisions like what topics to cover or how to organize the menu.   • To Comply with Legal Obligations: If required, we may use or disclose your information to comply with laws, regulations, or legal requests (such as court orders). We hope this never comes up, but for transparency: if, for instance, a law enforcement agency legally requires access to server logs (which include IP addresses) for an investigation, we may have to comply after verifying the request is lawful.

Importantly, we do not sell your personal information to third partiestermly.io. Jaxomo is a personal blog and not in the business of trading data. We also do not use your personal data for unsolicited marketing – for example, we won’t add your email to a mailing list unless you explicitly sign up for a newsletter (and at present, we don’t run a mailing list, so any contact would be direct reply to you).

How We Share or Disclose Information

We understand that your information is important, so we handle it carefully. We only share personal data in a few select scenarios:

  • Service Providers: We may use third-party services to help run the Site (for example, website hosting providers, analytics services like Google Analytics, or email service providers if we send emails). These providers might process certain data on our behalf. For instance, our website host inevitably processes IP addresses of visitors (because that’s how web servers work). We only work with reputable providers who have their own privacy and security practices, and they are not allowed to use your information for anything other than providing the service to us. For example, Google Analytics may use cookies and usage data to analyze site traffic, but cannot use that data to personally identify you for their own purposes – we have configured it to anonymize IP addresses where possible.

  • Affiliate Programs & Advertising Partners: If Jaxomo participates in affiliate marketing programs (e.g., Amazon Associates or others), those programs may use cookies or tracking pixels on our Site. When you click an affiliate link, certain information (like your IP or a cookie identifier) might be sent to the affiliate partner to track referrals. This is generally handled through scripts or links provided by the affiliate network. We do not share your personal info like name or email with these partners, but they may collect info through their link usage as per their privacy policies. Similarly, if in the future we display ads through an ad network, those networks may deploy cookies to show relevant ads. We will update this policy if we start such advertising. As of the effective date, Jaxomo’s monetization is primarily through affiliate links, not through banner ads or selling user data.

  • Legal Requirements: We might disclose information if compelled by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order, subpoena, or government demand)termsfeed.com. If possible and lawful, we would inform you of such disclosure. We would also disclose information if we believe it’s necessary to prevent a crime, protect our rights or the safety of others. (For example, if someone were posting concerning threats via a contact form, we might share info with law enforcement for safety.)

  • Business Transfers: This scenario is unlikely for a personal blog like Jaxomo, but we include it for completeness: if in the future Jaxomo or its assets were acquired or merged into another entity, user information might be transferred as part of that transaction. If that ever happens, we would ensure the new owner understands they must honor the commitments we’ve made in this Privacy Policy (and we’d notify you of the change).

Other than the above, we do not share your personal data with third parties. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Cookies are used on Jaxomo to provide a better user experience and for the functionality of certain features. Here’s a quick overview (see our Cookie Policy below for more detail):

  • Essential Cookies: Some cookies are necessary for the Site to operate. For example, if we have a login feature (currently we don’t, but hypothetically), a cookie would keep you logged in. Or a cookie might remember that you accepted the cookie banner so it doesn’t show up every time. These cookies do not store personal information beyond what is needed for service.

  • Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics cookies to collect information about how visitors use our Site. This helps us compile aggregate data about Site traffic and interaction (as mentioned earlier) so we can improve Jaxomo. Google Analytics may set cookies to log things like: when you visited, which pages you looked at, and from where (city/region, not your exact address). These analytics cookies do not identify you personally – they give us anonymous statistics. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to Jaxomo is restricted by Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

  • Affiliate Tracking Cookies: If you click an affiliate link on Jaxomo (for example, a link to a product I recommend), a cookie may be placed on your browser by the affiliate program to remember that you came from Jaxomo. This cookie usually contains no personal details about you – it typically just has an ID that confirms Jaxomo as the referrer. This way, if you make a purchase, I can earn a small commission. The cookie doesn’t give me any personal info about who you are or what you purchased, it’s simply how the affiliate system tracks sales. For instance, as an Amazon Associate (if I link to Amazon products), Amazon uses cookies to track referrals.

  • Third-Party Integrations: If we embed content from other platforms (like an Instagram feed, a YouTube video, or a Pinterest gallery), those services might set their own cookies or tracking pixels. For example, watching an embedded YouTube video on a blog can lead to YouTube/Google placing cookies for their own analytics. We currently have minimal embedded content, but if it’s present, the privacy policies of those services will apply to any data they collect through their embeds.

You have choices regarding cookies: you can usually modify your browser settings to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. However, note that blocking all cookies may impact some features of the Site (for example, it might forget your preferences). When you first visit Jaxomo, you may see a notice about cookies – by continuing to use the site, you consent to our use of cookies as described. You can always clear cookies from your browser or use browser extensions to manage tracking. Our separate Cookie Policy section provides more user-friendly info on how to control cookies.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the personal information we collect. Jaxomo is secured via standard security protocols: the site is HTTPS-enabled (which encrypts data between your browser and our server). We keep our site platform and plugins up-to-date to guard against security vulnerabilities. While no website can guarantee 100% security, we strive to use industry best practices to protect your data.

For example, any contact form submissions that are emailed to us go through a secure email provider. Access to any personal data is limited to me (Ksenija) and trusted service providers as needed, and is protected by passwords and, where feasible, two-factor authentication. We do not store highly sensitive info, as mentioned (no payment info is collected on our site, etc.).

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law. Given the limited data we hold, such a scenario is unlikely, but we want you to know we take it seriously.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access and Update: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections of any inaccuracies. For instance, if you emailed us before and want to know if we have that email on file, you can ask. If you left a comment and want it edited or removed, you can also request that.

  • Deletion: You can ask us to delete the personal information we have about you. Note that we may need to retain certain records for legal or administrative purposes (for example, if a comment you made is part of a post’s discussion, we might remove your personal info but retain an anonymized version of the comment). But if you simply want your email correspondence deleted, we can typically honor that. California residents (see CCPA section below) specifically have the right to request deletion of personal data we’ve collected about them, with some exceptions as per law.

  • Opt-Out of Communications: If in the future Jaxomo offers a newsletter or any email subscriptions, you will have the ability to opt out or unsubscribe from those communications easily (e.g., via an “unsubscribe” link). Since we currently do not have an email newsletter, the main communication would be if you email us first – and we would only reply to you, not send mass emails.

  • Do Not Track Signals: Some browsers have a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that sends a signal to websites requesting not to track your activities. There is currently no standard interpretation of DNT signals. While we respect your privacy, our Site’s behavior may not change in response to a DNT signal alone. However, remember you can control cookies and other trackers via your browser settings as mentioned above.

  • Cookies: As discussed, you can refuse cookies or delete them. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on if you want to prevent data from being used by Google Analytics.

To exercise any of your rights, you can contact us at hello@jaxomo.com. We may ask you to verify your identity (to protect your privacy and security) before processing certain requests. For example, if someone asked for “all data you have on John Doe” and claimed to be John Doe, we’d want to verify identity because we wouldn’t want to accidentally give John’s data to someone else. We will do our best to respond to your request in a timely manner (generally within 30 days).

California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a resident of California, you have specific privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) which amended it. These rights include:

  • Right to Know: You have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell (note: again, we do not sell your personal information). You can request the specific pieces of personal data we have about you, as well as the categories of personal information, the categories of sources from which that info was collected, the business purpose for collecting it, and if we disclosed it to any third parties (and the categories of those third parties).

  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request deletion of your personal information that we’ve collected (with certain exceptions – for example, if the info is needed to complete a transaction, detect security incidents, comply with legal obligations, etc.). As noted above, we will honor deletion requests to the extent we can do so while complying with the law and maintaining necessary records.

  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: The CCPA gives you the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. As we do not sell personal information, this mostly isn’t applicable. We also do not share personal info for cross-context behavioral advertising (as defined under CPRA). If that ever changes, we will update our practices and this policy accordingly and provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on the Site.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means if you exercise your rights (like asking for your data or requesting deletion), we won’t deny you our services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality just because you exercised your privacy rights. Jaxomo is a free content site for all users, and that won’t change whether or not you make a privacy request.

To make a verifiable consumer request under CCPA – such as accessing or deleting your data – you (or your authorized agent) can contact us at hello@jaxomo.com with “CCPA Request” in the subject line. Please include your name, a way to contact you, and details of your request. We will likely need to ask for some information to verify your identity (like confirming an email you used to contact us or other information we might have) because we need to ensure we’re providing data to the correct person.

We aim to respond to CCPA requests within 45 days as the law stipulates (or inform you if we need an extension). Keep in mind, because we collect minimal personal data, in many cases we may respond that we have no data on you beyond, for example, an IP address in server logs (which we cannot reasonably link to you individually) or an email if you corresponded with us. But we’ll be transparent about whatever we do find.

“Shine the Light” Law: California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (also known as the “Shine the Light” law) allows California residents to request certain information about what personal information is shared with third parties for those third parties’ direct marketing purposes. Jaxomo does not share personal information with third parties for direct marketing purposes without consent. In fact, as stated, we don’t really share personal info except in the limited ways described above (service providers, etc., and not for their own marketing). International Visitors (GDPR Notice)

Jaxomo is a U.S.-based blog primarily intended for a U.S. audience. However, if you are visiting from the European Economic Area (EEA) or other regions with data protection laws (like GDPR in Europe or similar laws elsewhere), please note that your personal data may be processed in the United States where our website is hosted. The U.S. may not have the same level of data protection as your home country.

If GDPR applies: We process personal information based on one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent: By using our Site (and agreeing to cookies where applicable), you consent to our collection and use of your data as described. You can withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the Site and contacting us to delete your data.

  • Legitimate Interests: We may process data like usage info as it is in our legitimate interest to understand our website traffic and improve our services, while taking care to respect your privacy rights. We only process the minimal amount of data necessary and it’s aggregated/anonymized when possible.

  • Legal Obligation: If we have to retain or disclose data to comply with a law or legal process, that’s a legal obligation basis.

If you are in the EEA, you likely have similar rights to access, rectification, deletion, etc., as described in the California section. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your country if you believe we are unlawfully processing your data. Retention of Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. For example, if you email us, we may retain that correspondence so we have the history of our conversation (unless you request it be deleted). Server logs (which include IP addresses) are generally rotated or deleted within a few weeks to a couple of months, unless needed longer for security analysis. Information collected via Google Analytics may be retained for a set period (we have adjusted settings to retain data for 14 months, which is a typical setting, and then it gets deleted automatically).

If you request deletion of your data, we will delete or anonymize the data unless an exception applies (such as needing it for a legal claim or record). We periodically review the data we have and delete what we no longer need. Since we keep minimal data, this is usually not a heavy process.

Children’s Privacy

As stated, Jaxomo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The content on the Site (fashion, style, beauty) is generally aimed at a teen/adult audience. If you are under 13, please do not submit any personal information on this Site. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal info, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make significant changes, we will post a prominent notice on the Site or notify users by other means (such as via email if you have contacted us before and we believe the changes are material to you). The “Effective Date” at the top will always indicate when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.

By continuing to use Jaxomo after any changes to this Privacy Policy are posted, you acknowledge the updated terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using the Site and can request removal of your data as described.
