Disclosure

Integrity and transparency are the heart of Jaxomo’s relationship with its readers. This General Disclosure outlines how I handle collaborations with brands, including sponsored content, gifted items (PR samples), and other partnerships. I want you to know exactly where things stand whenever I talk about a product or service that I didn’t purchase myself or content that involves a brand partnership.

Here are the key points of our general disclosure:

  • Honest Opinions, Always: No matter what I receive or who I work with, my opinions remain 100% my own. If a brand gives me a product for free or pays me to create content, it does not guarantee a positive review or coverage. I promise to my readers that I will only share my genuine experience. If I love it, you’ll know why. If I have reservations, I’ll share those too. And if something just didn’t work for me, I might choose not to feature it at all (or I’ll be candid about its flaws). My first loyalty is to you, the reader, and I value the trust you place in my content.

  • Gifted Items (PR Samples): From time to time, companies may send me PR samples or gifted items – these are products I did not purchase, often provided for consideration of review. Just because I receive a sample does not guarantee it will end up on the blog or my social media. I typically test products and only feature those I feel would be interesting or beneficial to readers. When I do talk about a gifted item, I will disclose it clearly. You might see phrases like “thanks to [Brand] for gifting this product” or hashtags like #gifted on social media. In blog posts, I may use an asterisk or note to indicate if something was received for free. For example: “*PR sample” or “(c/o [Brand])” which stands for “courtesy of.”

  • Sponsored Posts: A sponsored post means I have been compensated (money, or occasionally equivalent value in goods/services) by a brand to create content featuring them. If a post on Jaxomo is sponsored, it will be explicitly labeled as such, usually at the top of the post and/or in the title. For instance, a title might say “Sponsored: My Evening Skincare Routine with GlowBeautyCo,” or a note at the start might read “This post is sponsored by GlowBeautyCo. All opinions are my own.” I only accept sponsorships from brands that I believe are a good fit for Jaxomo and its readers. I also ensure I have used or thoroughly evaluated the product/service so I can speak about it authentically. Sponsored content will always contain my truthful assessment – the brand might review the content for accuracy, but they do not get to tell me what to say beyond factual information.

  • Affiliate Relationships vs. Sponsored: As outlined in the Affiliate Disclaimer, affiliate links are a way I earn commissions on sales without being directly paid to post. These are not personal endorsements by a brand but a performance-based partnership. Sponsored posts are direct partnerships where I’m paid to create content. Some brands might be both (e.g., I could have a sponsored post that also includes affiliate links to their products). In any case, disclosures will be in place for both scenarios.

  • Collaborations & Partnerships: If I collaborate with a brand in a way that isn’t a standard blog post – say, co-hosting an event, taking over a brand’s Instagram for a day, or creating a capsule collection (hey, a girl can dream!) – I will let you know my role in that partnership. Any material connection between me and a company, I will strive to disclose. This is in line with the FTC’s guidelines in the U.S. for influencers and truth-in-advertising: I want to be crystal clear when something is an ad or when I have a relationship with a company whose product I mentionsemrush.com.

  • Advertising: Currently, Jaxomo does not display traditional ads (like banner ads or pop-ups). If that ever changes (for example, joining an ad network that displays ads on the site), I will update this disclosure. Any ad placements will be clear (usually labeled as “Advertisement” or separated in a sidebar). These wouldn’t affect my content as they are simply space sold to advertisers, but I would still keep an eye to ensure they align broadly with the site’s ethos (I wouldn’t want offensive or irrelevant ads showing up). Again, right now, revenue is primarily via affiliate links and occasional sponsored content, not random ads.

  • Existing Relationships: If I have a personal or professional relationship with a brand or person mentioned on the blog, I will disclose that as well. For example, if I mention a salon and it’s owned by my cousin, I’d mention that relationship. Or if I previously worked for a company or have friends there, I’ll note it if I feature them. It’s rare but just another aspect of transparency.

  • Reviews Not Paid For: The majority of reviews on Jaxomo are of products I purchased myself or tried on my own accord. In those cases, there’s no financial interest involved at all. If a post doesn’t explicitly state something was gifted or sponsored, you can generally assume I got it on my own. I sometimes mention “I bought this with my own money” just to emphasize when I am particularly enthusiastic about something I personally invested in. But to avoid repetition, I mainly focus on disclosing when there is a sponsorship or gift, and absence of a disclosure implies it’s an independent review.

  • Influencer Codes: If I ever provide a discount or promo code in a post (like “Use code KSENIJA10 for 10% off at CheckoutCo”), it may or may not be affiliated. Sometimes brands give influencers codes just for audience benefit tracking, other times the influencer might get a small commission. I will clarify the nature of the code. For example, I might say “Use code KSENIJA10 for 10% off (and I’ll earn a small commission as an affiliate).” Or if I don’t earn from it, I can note “(I don’t earn from this code; just sharing for your benefit).”

  • Editorial Independence: Regardless of any partnerships, I maintain editorial control over content on Jaxomo. Brands or PR agencies might pitch ideas or provide information, but I decide what to publish. I also strive to keep a balance – you won’t see Jaxomo turning into a string of ads or sponsored pieces. I value organic content and will never allow paid content to overwhelm the blog. Quality and authenticity come first, always.

In summary, I’m committed to being open about the ways Jaxomo is monetized or the ways I collaborate with brands. If you ever read a post and are unsure about whether I had a brand relationship, please check the top/bottom for a disclosure statement. If it’s not clear, you’re absolutely welcome to ask me! You can email hello@jaxomo.com or reach out on social media, and I will happily clarify.

Thank you for trusting me and for supporting Jaxomo. This blog’s community means so much to me, and I will continue to do everything I can to deserve your trust – including adhering to the highest standards of transparency. 💛
