FAQ

Below are answers to some common questions readers and visitors might have about Jaxomo. I hope you find this helpful! If you have a question that’s not covered here, feel free to reach out to me at hello@jaxomo.com.

  1. What is Jaxomo, and who is behind it? – Jaxomo is a personal fashion, style, and beauty blog created by me, Ksenija Masina. I’m the sole author and editor of the site. It’s essentially my creative space to share outfit ideas, beauty tips, product reviews, and my thoughts on style trends. Think of Jaxomo as my online journal for all things chic and beautiful, where I invite you to follow along on my style journey.

  2. How did you come up with the name “Jaxomo”? What does it mean? – I get this question a lot because Jaxomo is a unique word! Honestly, it’s a made-up name that I chose for its fun, memorable sound. I wanted something short and brandable that didn’t tie me to one specific niche (in case my content evolves over time). The name “Jaxomo” doesn’t have a dictionary definition – it’s just a quirky combination of letters I liked. For me, Jaxomo represents a little world I created for sharing my passions. Plus, it’s one-of-a-kind, just like personal style should be! (Side note: sometimes I joke that Jaxomo stands for “Jack-of-all-trades in Xtra Outfits and More,” but that’s more of a playful backronym than an actual origin.)

  3. Are you a professional stylist or beauty expert? – Nope, I’m not a licensed stylist, cosmetologist, or dermatologist – and I don’t pretend to be. 🙂 I’m an enthusiast. My background isn’t in the fashion industry; I’m just someone who has always loved playing dress-up, experimenting with makeup, and staying curious about style. Everything I share is based on personal experience, self-taught knowledge, and research. I do my homework on topics (for example, I’ll read up on skincare ingredients or styling techniques) and I may reference expert advice in my posts, but I am not a “pro” giving professional advice. Think of me as your fashion-loving friend rather than an expert consultant. Always keep in mind my Disclaimer – since I’m not a professional, you should treat my tips as friendly suggestions and double-check anything critical with a real expert.

  4. Why did you start this blog? – I started Jaxomo because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to connect with others who share a passion for fashion and beauty. Ever since I was little, I found joy in putting together outfits and trying out my mom’s lipsticks. As I grew up, I realized that I also love writing and storytelling. A blog seemed like the perfect way to combine these interests. Initially, it was just a hobby – a place to document my style experiments and write about trends I was excited (or perplexed) about. Over time, it’s grown into a more focused platform. But at its heart, the reason remains the same: I blog because it’s fun for me, and because it’s rewarding to share ideas and possibly inspire someone else to try a new look or feel more confident. The community aspect is a big motivator too – I’ve “met” so many wonderful people through blogging!

  5. Do you make money from Jaxomo? How is the blog funded? – Jaxomo is primarily a passion project, but yes, it does generate some income through methods like affiliate links and occasional brand partnerships. I’ve detailed this in the Affiliate Disclaimer and General Disclosure sections, but in brief: if you click on some product links and purchase something, I might earn a small commission (this doesn’t cost you extra). Also, if I collaborate with a brand on a sponsored post, I get paid for that project. I am very selective about sponsorships – I only work with brands I genuinely like or find relevant for my readers. Any sponsored content or gifted products are clearly disclosed in the posts. The modest earnings I get help cover web hosting fees, equipment (like a camera or editing tools), and the cost of buying products to review. I’m not making a full-time living from the blog at this point; it’s more of a side hustle that funds itself. I believe in being transparent about this, hence all the disclosures. Your trust is more important than money, so I aim to keep any monetization honest and unobtrusive.

  6. How often do you post new content? – I try to keep a regular posting schedule, although the exact frequency can vary depending on what’s happening in my life behind the scenes. Generally, you can expect new posts about once a week. Sometimes I’ll have periods of more frequent updates (like during a specific season when there’s a lot to cover – e.g., “Fall Fashion Week” series might have multiple posts in a week). Other times, if I’m particularly busy or working on a more in-depth piece, it might be once every two weeks. My goal is quality over quantity, so I won’t post just for the sake of it – I ensure I have something valuable or interesting to say. You can always check the homepage or the blog section to see the latest posts. If you don’t see something new for a little while, don’t worry, I’m likely cooking up the next idea or perhaps taking a short break. I’ll often update followers on social media if I’m taking a hiatus or when a new post is live.

  7. How can I stay updated on new posts or content? – Great question! There are a few ways to follow along:

    • Social Media: I announce new blog posts on my social channels. You can follow me on Pinterest and Instagram (my handles are usually @ksenijamasina or @jaxomo – I will have icons/links on the site). I often post outfit snaps, behind-the-scenes stories, and alerts when a new blog post is up. Pinterest is also a big platform for me – I create pins for each blog post, so if you’re an avid Pinner, you might see my content there.

    • Email Newsletter: As of now, I don’t have a newsletter, but I’m considering starting one in the future if there’s interest. A newsletter would send new posts or a monthly roundup directly to your inbox. If/when I launch it, I’ll put a signup form on the site. Keep an eye out for that! (And I promise, if you do subscribe eventually, I won’t spam – it’ll be purely for Jaxomo updates or special content for subscribers.)

    • RSS Feed: If you use an RSS reader, you can subscribe to Jaxomo’s RSS feed. Many blogs have this by default (feed readers can usually detect it). This is a more old-school way, but it works for some – every time I post, it’ll show up in your chosen reader app.

    • Bookmark and Visit: Of course, you can also bookmark jaxomo.com and check back periodically. Perhaps with your Sunday coffee? 😉 I try to make sure the latest posts are visible on the homepage and the blog page lists things chronologically.

In short, following on Instagram and Pinterest are currently the best ways to know what’s new, until I roll out an email list.

  8. Can I use your photos or content on my own website or social media? – I’m flattered that you’re interested in sharing my content! However, I ask that you follow these guidelines to respect copyright and effort:

    • Photos: All original photos on Jaxomo (those taken by me) are under my ownership. Please do not use my photographs on your website or marketing materials without permission. If you’re a fellow blogger who wants to share an image (for example, in a roundup of bloggers’ outfits you loved), please reach out to me first for consent. I’m usually okay with being included in roundups or inspiration posts as long as I’m credited properly (a link back to Jaxomo and mention of my name) and the image isn’t altered to misrepresent me. On platforms like Pinterest, you’re welcome to pin images directly from my site (that’s what the share buttons are there for!) as that links back to the source.

    • Text/Articles: Please do not copy-and-paste full articles or large portions of my text onto another site. Not only does that violate copyright, but search engines penalize duplicate content, which can hurt both of us. If you want to quote a snippet of my review or reference something I said, that’s fine – just use quotation marks and credit “– Ksenija, Jaxomo” with a link to the full post on my site. For instance, quoting two sentences from my blog and then linking readers to my site for the rest is acceptable (and appreciated!). But copying an entire post is not.

    • Social Media Sharing: You are absolutely encouraged to share my content via social media in a way that includes a link back. For example, sharing a link to my blog post on Twitter or Facebook with one of my images (as a preview) is generally okay. On Instagram, re-sharing my IG post via the app’s tools or story mention is cool. If you screenshot something I made and repost it, please tag or credit me in the caption.

    • If in doubt, just ask! You can email hello@jaxomo.com if you’d like to collaborate or feature my content somewhere. I’m friendly, I promise. 🙂 I mostly want to avoid situations where my content is used inappropriately (like someone else pretending it’s their work, or using it to sell something without permission).

  9. Do you accept guest posts or contributions from other writers? – At this time, Jaxomo is a personal blog and I’m the sole content creator. I do not have guest posts written by others on the site currently. The main reason is that I have a specific voice and style for the blog, and maintaining that consistency is important to me. It’s also a time thing – managing submissions and edits from guest writers can be a lot of work. In the future, I’m not completely opposed to possibly featuring a guest perspective (for example, if a fellow fashion-lover has a unique expertise, or if I do an interview segment). But it would be a rare exception, not a regular feature. If you are a writer or brand with a guest post idea that you think is truly a perfect fit for Jaxomo, you can pitch it via email. Just know that I’m very selective and will only consider it if it provides real value to my readers and aligns with the blog’s ethos (no generic articles or blatant advertising masquerading as a post). Also, any guest content would be clearly credited to the author.

  10. How can I contact you for collaboration or questions? – I love hearing from readers and potential collaborators! For general inquiries, the best way is to email me at hello@jaxomo.com. I check that email regularly and try to respond in a timely manner. If you have a quick question or just want to say hi, you can also reach out via direct message on Instagram – though email is preferred for anything important so it doesn’t get lost. For brands or PR professionals interested in collaborations, sponsorships, or sending products for review, you can also use hello@jaxomo.com and I can share a media kit or discuss ideas. Lastly, if you comment on a blog post with a question, I will do my best to reply in the comments section as well. Just keep in mind public comments are visible to everyone, so for personal matters, stick to email. However you choose to contact me, I’ll get back as soon as I can – I genuinely enjoy connecting with the Jaxomo community!

I hope this FAQ section has answered your questions. If you’re curious about anything else, don’t hesitate to reach out. Thanks for reading and being a part of Jaxomo!
